Organise your pantry in a weekend

No special skills needed — just a simple method and the right containers. Here's how we'd do it.

An organised pantry
  1. 01

    Empty & edit

Take everything out, group like with like, and let go of anything past its date. You can only organise what you can see.

  2. 02

    Decant the dry goods

Move pasta, rice, flour, sugar, coffee and snacks into airtight jars. Matched sizes stack neatly and keep contents dry and dust-free.

  3. 03

    Zone your shelves

Give each shelf a job — breakfast, baking, snacks — and use stackable bins to keep small items corralled and easy to pull out.

  4. 04

    Label everything

Write-on labels make it obvious what's where, so the whole household can put things back in the right place.

  5. 05

    Tame the fridge

Use clear bins and produce containers with drain trays to separate fruit, veg and drinks, and keep shelves wipe-clean.

  6. 06

    Keep it going

Refill from the back, do a two-minute tidy each week, and top up jars when you shop — a tidy pantry stays tidy with tiny habits.
